Medication Handling Training

Our Medication Training Course equips participants with the tools they need to safely support adults at risk with their medication. Working within the legal framework of medication in the health and social care sector, we inform participants about the general guidelines for working safely with medication as well as expanding upon a range of medication issues and topics.

Our highly experienced training manager, Mark, will take participants through the safe handling and administration of medication, from types of medication and storage, to self administration, how to handle medication refusal, and what action to take in the event of a medication error. Our offices are in an easily accessible location close to Leicester Railway Station and the city centre.

It is ideal for frontline staff in the health and social care sector and for those supporting individuals who need to take medication. While the course is not accredited, it clarifies and informs participants about a very important area of care. It can be of help to secure employment in the care industry as healthcare professionals like to see evidence of training and qualifications. It could also be used as evidence of further development to support courses and higher education.

Find out more about the two different tiers of our Medication Handling course by taking a look at the separate course structures. Our tier 2 medication course is designed for staff who can only prompt medication. Our Tier 3 course is designed for those members of staff who administer medication, typically residential and maybe home care staff.
